This stunning 18th Century Florentine diamond-shaped mercury mirror is entirely hand-carved and the wood has been gilded with the ancient gold leaves technique.

Its intriguing high relief carving features scrolls, shells and flowers’ garlands throughout typical of Rococo period.

The central mercury mirror has an octagonal shape and is flanked by eight other rectangular mirrors on each side.

The two gilded wooden frames, embellished with the typical Florentine oval patterns, give the mirror a pleasant and unusual three-dimensional effect.

Both the gilding and the mirrors are in incredible perfect condition.
