Italian 19th Century Oval Cherrywood and Ebony Dining Room Table
A dining table made up of precious woods, the sobriety of the clear lines typical of the Directoir period are softened by the refined oval shape, the saber legs add a further touch of elegance and give greater comfort to the seat.
This large dining table with an unusual elliptical shape dates back to the second half of the 19th century, the manufacture can be placed in the Tuscany area, probably Lucca or Florence. The table it is entirely veneered in cherry wood, the sober line is emphasized by a double black ebony thread that frames the top and the saber legs. The inlays in ebony wood are also repeated on the upper part of the legs with geometric designs and on the finals.
The grain and warm color of the wood are wonderful, enhanced by a beautiful patina. The table has been treated and finished with beeswax polishing rigorously given by hand.
Ideal to comfortably accommodate eight people, this dining table can also accommodate ten guests if you consider that the flared and tapered legs with the typical saber shape do not clutter the seat.
The clean lines and precious woods make this table perfect with any type of furniture and suitable not only to be used as a dining table but also as a meeting table in a study or representative office.
Excellent structural condition, very slight signs of wear on the top that do nothing but give character, beautiful and rich original patina, hand-polished with beeswax.
