Esposito Gallery: Antique Gallery in Florence
A three-generations family business, the building housing the shop on Via Maggio 82r – the street dedicated to the antiques trade since ancient times – dates back to the 14th century. Its wonderful arched ceilings and charming original architectural details provide the perfect setting to display the magnificent pieces within.
Italian and French Baroque, Neoclassical and Empire period artworks are among my favourite antique pieces but I love my collection to always be eclectic. I give my clients – both trade and private ones – not only a wide range of antique pieces but also Art Deco, mid-century and even contemporary art objects and textiles.
The inventory comes mainly from private Italian homes and private sellers.
The site has been launched to support the gallery’s traditional activities, the sale of furniture, works of art and paintings.
I invite you to discover the site and to acquaint yourself with our diverse activities, events and news about the gallery, also browsing the services’ and blog’s section or subscribing to the newsletter, to easily contact me and of course, to gain access to a superb selection of works of art.
The Gallery
The Antonio Esposito Antique Gallery is situated in Via Maggio, the heart of Florence’s antiques district in the vibrant Oltrarno neighborhood, just a stone’s throw away from the Pitti Palace and Santo Spirito Square.
The shop is housed in a building dating back to 1300 and is spread over over 200 sq m.
It is a well-kept, evocative and elegant environment where furniture, paintings, sculptures, chandeliers and antiques are offered for sale, as well as vintage and design furnishings, fabrics and contemporary works of art.
Chiara Esposito is the third generation of antique dealers in the family business, she inherited from her parents, Antonio and Francesca, the great passion for art but also the dedication, commitment and experience that are the soul of this wonderful work.
She personally deals with the trade and study of the artworks in her gallery’s collection and she is always on the hunt for rare, unique and high end antiquities.

A Time Travel Story: What do an antique Italian silk fabric, a Bourbon king who lived in the 18th century and a young entrepreneur in the silk field have in common?
Fabrics have always been one of my great passions and to offer textiles for sale in my gallery was natural thanks to a long term friendship and business relationship with the owner of one of the most long-lived and prestigious silk factories in the San Leucio...
